DARLING in the FRANXX

In plantation cities guarded by mechanized FRANXX, children raised as «parasites» pilot in male–female pairs against klaxosaurs no one explains. A boy once praised as a prodigy cannot synchronize until he meets a horned girl whose partners never last; flying with her gives him purpose and paints a target on them both. Training becomes warfare as adults hide the cost of immortality, reproduction is treated as obsolete, and the squad’s makeshift family learns love, jealousy, and grief alongside sortie schedules. Clues buried in ruins reveal who steered humanity underground and why the pilots’ bodies and memories are designed as tools. The pair’s bond pushes the team to defy command structures, protect friends who want an ordinary life, and decide whether survival means guarding the last garden on Earth or risking everything to end a conflict that began long before any of them were born.
