Altered Carbon: Resleeved

The events of this anime take place between the first and second seasons of the series. It tells of Takeshi Kovacs, his forced partnership with the Japanese mafia and his stay on the planet Latimer, a world whose streets are flooded with neon and holographic illusions. Kovacs is hired and given a brand-new, top-of-the-line military sleeve so that he can use it to infiltrate a crime syndicate and investigate the death of a yakuza boss's brother on the eve of the ritual in which all the family's power is to pass from its head to the heir.

But rumors spread that a conspiracy is brewing within the clan and that someone wants to disrupt the ceremony. Somehow, a young woman named Holly, the tattoo artist of the entire clan, has been dragged into this mess. Without her, the ritual of succession cannot take place. Now Takeshi's main task is to protect the girl at any cost and to figure out who is behind the plot. Besides the hero and his mysterious employer, the mafia has also drawn the interest of a woman named Gin, who works for the police. Soon she, too, becomes Holly's second bodyguard.
