Your Lie in April

Kousei Arima grows up as a piano prodigy until his mother’s death fractures something inside him, and he loses the ability to hear his own playing even though his hearing still works. He keeps moving through school in a muted, colorless routine, leaning on old friends but avoiding music and the memories attached to it. Everything shifts when he meets Kaori Miyazono, a bold violinist who refuses to treat performance like a cage. Kaori pulls Kousei back toward the stage, first as her accompanist and then as someone who has to decide whether he can live with music again, not as a weapon for approval but as his own voice. The closer they get, the more Kousei is forced to confront what he buried, and what it costs to open up when he has spent so long shutting down.
