The Tibetan Dog

Tenzing lived with his mother in a big city, where they were happy, until one day misfortune came to their home. The boy's mother dies, leaving her child all alone. He was only ten years old at the time, and the tragedy dealt him a terrible blow. It is hard at such an age to know the longing for a loved one, to be left completely alone and to try to find a way to go on living. The boy did have a father, but the man had left him and his mother when the child was still just a baby. He went off into the mountains to withdraw completely from worldly life and devote himself solely to exploring his inner world.

After the tragedy, Tenzing leaves the city and travels to Tibet to join his father. Village life is very different from the rhythm of the city, and of course it will be very hard for the boy to get used to his new reality. His father receives him very coldly, keeps his distance and allows him no indulgences. The only one he enjoys spending time with is an enormous Tibetan dog, a mastiff. They met in an unusual way: the dog saved the boy's life and has remained his best friend ever since. No one knew anything about the dog, where it came from or when it would appear, but soon far too many questions began to arise around it.
