The Laws of the Sun

The Laws of the Sun is a 2000 animated film produced by Happy Science, the religious movement founded by Ryuho Okawa. It is the second title in the organization's series of anime films and is based on Okawa's book of the same name, one of the central texts of the group's teachings.

Rather than a conventional adventure story, the film presents the movement's spiritual worldview on a grand scale. Drawing on the book, it depicts a cosmic history that spans the creation of the universe, the birth of humanity and the rise and fall of legendary lost civilizations, framed as a lesson about the purpose of the human soul.

The film is primarily a work of religious storytelling, using large-scale animated visuals to convey the teachings of Happy Science. It stands alongside the group's other animated features as part of an ongoing series meant to bring its doctrine to audiences through anime, and it is best understood as a devotional film rather than a typical fantasy or science fiction story.
