Grow Up Show: Sunflower Circus

In mid-1950s Japan, the postwar economy is surging and circus troupes travel the country competing for public attention. The best can earn a place in the Circus Collection, a world-famous festival that represents the highest stage in their profession. The Sunflower Circus dreams of joining them, but the troupe is short on money and struggling to survive. Ringmaster Maria keeps its performers moving from town to town even when the next show may not be enough to save them. Their prospects change when Mizuka Tsurumaki, a gifted young circus performer, unexpectedly joins the company for reasons she has not explained. Her talent gives the Sunflower Circus a real chance to rise, but reaching the Collection will require its very different members to trust one another, sharpen their acts, and turn a failing troupe into a show no audience can forget.
