Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day The Movie

A year has passed since the events that changed the lives of a group of friends. Summer comes around again, and the former members of the Super Peace Busters gather together to keep a promise connected to their childhood friend Menma, Meiko Honma. Each of them brings a letter written especially for her, trying to express the words they could never say before. While preparing, they recall the summer days they spent together and talk about the events of the past year, as well as the years that separated them and sent them down different paths.

The memories gradually come back to life as the friends begin reading what they have written, returning to the moments when their friendship was put to a serious test. Jinta Yadomi tries to stay calm, but old feelings make him relive everything connected with Menma's appearance after her long absence. The others also remember how each of them reacted in their own way to what happened, what decisions they made, and how those decisions shaped their lives afterward. The preparations turn into a journey through the places of their childhood, where they once played, quarreled and made promises, as the film retells the main story from the perspective of each member of the group.
