Kanon

According to Eastern wisdom, nothing passes without leaving a trace. Every action, even an ordinary thought, can influence the universe. So why does seventeen-year-old Yuuichi Aizawa remember nothing about the time he spent as a child in a town in the north of Japan? He is back here now, yet the memories are gone, even though he used to come here often to visit his aunt. Something made him stay away for seven long years. Certain moments begin to surface in his memory only after he settles into the home of his aunt Akiko, where his cousin Nayuki also lives, starts getting used to a real winter, enrolls in a new school and makes friends.

But are these friends really new? The young man cannot shake a feeling of déjà vu. Why does he know these cheerful and sad girls living in the snowbound town, who are frightened not by the frost outside the window but by the coldness in people's hearts? Perhaps it all has to do with what happened seven years ago. The hero now has a mission: he must finish what was once started. Along the way he will have to unravel a host of mysteries that will help him understand the lives of others better. The catch is that he will have to make an honest choice, one that leaves no room for selfishness or self-pity.
