Sentenced to Be a Hero

In this world, being called a Hero is a sentence, not an honor. The worst criminals are forced into Penal Hero Unit 9004 and thrown against the Demon Lord’s armies, revived when they die so the punishment never ends. Xylo Forbartz, an ex Holy Knight commander convicted as a «goddess killer,» leads a squad of unstable offenders: a notorious thief, a con artist turned political criminal, a self proclaimed king and terrorist, and an assassin who has never completed a job. Day after day, the unit is pushed into reckless operations on the front lines to contain the Demon King phenomenon. During one mission, a teammate steals a coffin from the battlefield. Inside is not a corpse but Teoritta, a hidden Goddess treated as a weapon. Xylo is pushed into a new contract with her, and the team lurches from crisis to crisis, trying to survive, learn why Teoritta was concealed, and earn a pardon that always feels just out of reach.
