Darker Than Black Episode 26: Beneath the Fully Bloomed Cherry Blossoms

Darker than Black Episode 26, subtitled "Beneath the Fully Bloomed Cherry Blossoms," is a side story set during the events of the first Darker than Black series (Kuro no Keiyakusha) and released as an extra episode.

The series takes place in a world changed by the appearance of Hell's Gate in Tokyo, after which the real stars vanished from the sky and Contractors appeared: people with supernatural powers who must pay a price each time they use them and who think in terms of cold logic rather than emotion. Hei, a Contractor known as the Black Reaper, carries out covert missions for the shadowy Syndicate together with the doll Yin, the gruff veteran Huang and Mao, a Contractor living in the body of a cat.

In this episode the Syndicate gives Hei's team another job: recovering the coveted possessions of a dead Contractor, which are believed to have been buried beneath a cherry tree. Meanwhile, police detective Misaki Kirihara and her team are planning a trip to the cherry blossom festival.
