The Darwin Incident

Charlie is a «humanzee», half human and half chimpanzee, living with his foster parents in rural Missouri and trying to pass as a normal teenager. When he finally enters school, he meets Lucy Eldred, brilliant but socially awkward, and their blunt honesty turns into a real bond. The peace does not last. Charlie’s origin makes him a target for ALA, a violent «animal liberation» group that wants to use him as a symbol and a weapon. As the threat closes in, Charlie has to decide what he is willing to do to protect his family and Lucy, even if every move he makes pulls more attention, more fear, and more hatred onto everyone around him.
