Interviews With Monster Girls: The Demi-chans' Summer Break

Interviews With Monster Girls: The Demi-chans' Summer Break is an OVA episode set during the summer vacation, featuring biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi, who tries to understand the demis, young people with traits of legendary creatures, attending his school.

During the break, Tetsuo asks Sakie Satou, a fellow teacher and a succubus, to join him on patrol duty at the local summer festival. The festival also draws the demi girls, the cheerful vampire Hikari Takanashi, the polite dullahan Kyouko Machi and the shy snow woman Yuki Kusakabe, as well as Hikari's twin sister Himari and her friends. As each group decides to check out a nearby shrine, they get spooked by a series of strange occurrences, which in the end turn out to have been caused by each other.

When the new term begins, Tetsuo has a conversation with Matsuri, an invisible woman, adding yet another demi to the people he hopes to understand. True to the series, the episode balances gentle comedy with warm slice-of-life moments and thoughtful looks at what it means to be different.
