Joshi Kausei

Momoko Futo is an average high school girl going about her everyday life. Though laid-back and cheerful, her days are anything but mundane, as her eccentricity and clumsiness never fail to spice things up. Her two best friends are always at her side: the cute and innocent Mayumi Furui and the calm, cool Shibumi Shibusawa. Together the trio fills ordinary school days, walks around town and idle afternoons with small moments of silliness and warmth.

What makes Joshikausei stand out is its format: the short episodes contain no spoken dialogue or narration at all. Instead, the comedic shenanigans of these girls are told entirely through the expressive sounds, gestures and reactions they make, with their voice actresses conveying everything without a single line of real speech. The result is a gentle slice-of-life comedy about a friendship so close that words are not even needed, where a single look or sigh says everything and even the most mundane situation can turn into a little adventure.
