Hakkenden -Eight Dogs of the East- Season 2

The second season of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East continues the story of Shino Inuzuka and Sousuke Inukawa, who survived the fire that destroyed their village of Ootsuka. Shino carries within his right arm Murasame, a cursed sword that can also take the form of a crow, while Sousuke can transform into a great dog. Their mission is to find the bearers of the eight sacred gems, people who share the character for dog in their surnames and bear a peony-shaped birthmark.

The journey to gather all eight gems continues, as Shino and Sousuke travel in search of the remaining holders. From the shadows the Imperial Church keeps scheming, and a mysterious woman seeks to carry out a sinister plot with the gem holders at its heart. As the origin of the gems finally comes to light, so does the truth behind Sousuke's doppelganger, Ao, who resurfaces with a goal of his own, one that involves Sousuke and the gem he carries. Blending supernatural action with a reimagining of the classic Nanso Satomi Hakkenden, the season deepens the bonds between its heroes while unraveling the mysteries of their shared past.
