Fate/stay night

Shirou Emiya is a barely-trained mage who stumbles into the Holy Grail War and survives only because he summons Saber, a heroic spirit who refuses to let him die quietly. What starts as shock turns into obligation as Shirou realizes the war is not a legend but a deadly ritual where Masters and Servants hunt each other through the city, hiding behind normal life until the next ambush. Shirou is forced into alliances and betrayals with other mages like Rin Tohsaka, while enemies with very different motives close in, including the priest Kirei Kotomine and the ruthless Gilgamesh. The deeper Shirou goes, the more he has to test the «save everyone» ideal he inherited, because every attempt to do the right thing creates a new target and a new sacrifice.
