Thirteen years after a mysterious outbreak called «Akai Hi» wiped out most of humanity, the survivors live shut away in isolated villages, pretending the ruined outside world does not exist. Aki was born after the collapse, so the «before» is just a story she cannot picture, but one thing still hurts like it happened yesterday. Her father left the village and never came back. When Aki decides to go after him, she does not go alone. Her closest friends Haru and Natsuki slip out with her, and the three step into a Japan that is overgrown, silent, and packed with zombies that never stop moving. It is terrifying, but it is also strangely beautiful, with wide open spaces none of them have ever seen. As they push forward, they learn fast that surviving is not only about running or fighting. It is about choosing what kind of people they want to be when the old world is gone and every day outside can be the last.
