Pop Team Epic Season 2

High school girl duo Popuko and Pipimi are back and more unhinged than ever after their first attempt at a full-fledged anime production was met with a great reception. Based on the four-panel manga by bkub Okawa, the second season keeps the anarchic format of the first: each episode is a rapid-fire collage of short skits and parody segments in wildly different art styles and animation techniques, mixed with music videos and absurd non sequiturs.

The short, hot-tempered Popuko and the tall, unflappable Pipimi have no regard for their audience as they go on living their reckless everyday lives, made up of comedy sketches and parodies of epic proportions that take aim at anime, video games, pop culture and the industry itself. No one is immune to the effects of their antics, including the hapless live-action actor Shouta Aoi, who is on the run and stuck trying to be a hero in the wrong series.

True to the series' signature gimmick, each episode is presented twice, with the same visuals but a different pair of voice actresses or actors, so that even identical jokes land in completely different ways.
