Comical Psychosomatic Medicine

Comical Psychosomatic Medicine is a short educational comedy in which the psychologist Ryou and his cheerful nurse Asuna explain many aspects of mental illness to the audience. Each brief episode tackles a different subject, covering questions such as the validity, prevalence and origins of mental disorders, as well as specific conditions and how they affect people's lives.

Rather than delivering dry lectures, the duo present the material in a cheerful, comic manner, packed with jokes, puns and pop culture references. Ryou provides the explanations in a knowledgeable, laid-back style, while Asuna acts as the energetic voice of the audience, asking questions, reacting to the facts and frequently derailing the discussion with gags. Their back-and-forth turns complex and often stigmatized topics into approachable, easily digestible segments, making the series both an entertaining comedy and a lighthearted introduction to psychology and psychosomatic medicine for viewers who know little about the subject.
