A spirit named Yuri of the World Tree saves him, and Ursula takes him in and drills him until appraisal becomes a weapon. Yuri gives him a spirit eye, and he starts a journey to help her meet her sisters while he learns how to fight, read lies, and protect people who believe in him. A trader named Jasper becomes an ally. Zoid, the man who led the betrayal, keeps shadowing his steps. Town by town they face tests set by guardians and other spirits. Ein stops apologizing and uses calm reads and training to win. The season settles on a reunion for the sisters and a quiet vow that he will keep them safe and keep searching for the truth behind the World Trees.
