Intrigue in the Bakumatsu: Irohanihoheto

In the final years of the Bakumatsu era, the wandering mercenary Yojiro Akizuki roams across Japan, hiding behind the guise of a simple traveler a dangerous man with a mysterious past. His sword, though it serves as an ordinary weapon in battle, is in fact something far greater: he uses it to track down ancient and powerful artifacts that hold supernatural powers. This single-minded obsession, which has led him into many bloody clashes, drives him to cross not only physical borders but also the very essence of human desire, as he comes up against dark and dangerous forces.

One day, during another of his journeys, he crosses paths with a traveling theater troupe whose members at first seem to be simple performers living on the edge of poverty and fear. However, their behavior and the mysterious atmosphere surrounding them make Akizuki doubt their true intentions. With each passing day he understands more clearly that these people are hiding not only their personal tragedies but also far more dangerous secrets tied to mystical powers and sinister rituals. The question remains: was this meeting a mere coincidence, or a carefully planned move in some mysterious conspiracy yet to be uncovered?
