A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics

Sosuke Kaburaya is a private detective in Gifu who is constantly one bad week away from being broke, the kind of guy who accepts odd jobs because rent does not care about pride. During one case, he runs into Sara da Odin, a young princess who has fallen into Japan from another world after a rebellion topples her homeland. Sara is not helpless, she has magic, curiosity, and a weirdly fast ability to adapt, and she decides Sosuke is safe enough to stick with. Sosuke brings her home, partly out of responsibility and partly because life has already gotten strange, so why not lean into it. Sara starts following him to work, helping with cases in her own chaotic way, and she treats Earth like a giant playground of new rules to learn. Meanwhile, Sara’s knight Livia Do Udis arrives separately and has a much rougher landing. With no money, no contacts, and no idea where Sara went, Livia ends up living on the street and taking whatever jobs appear, which introduces her to a parade of questionable opportunities and people who are just as odd as the situation itself. The show is built around the collision of worlds, not with epic battles, but with daily survival, bizarre clients, and the quiet way two displaced girls change the pace of Sosuke’s life. The «salad bowl» part fits because nothing blends cleanly. Magic, detective work, street hustle, and found family moments all get tossed together, and somehow it works because everyone involved is a little bit desperate and a little bit sincere.
