The Swords

Chen Ping’an grows up poor in Li Zhu Grotto Heaven after losing the protection that should have belonged to him. His natal porcelain is broken, so the opportunities prepared around the town pass to others while powerful figures watch from a distance and make their own arrangements. He works hard, repairs what he can, and survives by patience rather than status. A Ningyao, a young sword cultivator, enters his life and brings him closer to a world of hidden sects, old debts, and forces that treat the town as a chessboard. When the sealed order around Li Zhu begins to collapse, Chen Ping’an is pushed into choices that no longer concern only his own survival. Friends, elders, travelers, and enemies all leave marks on him, and each encounter teaches him that luck without judgment can become another trap.

After the grotto heaven falls apart, Chen Ping’an accepts the responsibility of escorting Li Baoping and others to Great Sui for study. The journey is dangerous because the children are not only students but pieces tied to larger powers. Roads, inns, mountains, and river crossings become tests where ambushes and supernatural threats appear without warning. A Liang and other powerful figures help at key moments, but Chen Ping’an cannot rely on rescue as a plan. He learns to carry people forward, protect promises, and understand why cultivation is measured not only by strength but by the weight a person is willing to bear. His path turns from a poor boy’s struggle inside one small town into a long road through a world where swords, teachings, favors, and grudges decide who gets to keep moving.
