Bright: Samurai Soul

At a turning point between eras, as the old shogunate burns out along with the familiar order of things, the Japan of the Bright world is not only a land of humans but also of elves, orcs, goblins, dwarves and ancient magic. Here the civil war, the fall of the Tokugawa and the birth of the Meiji era are interwoven with legends of magic wands capable of changing the fate of entire peoples. Once, a blinding flash of magic halted the bloodshed at Edo Castle, but the peace that followed proved fragile and deceptive. Izo, a one-eyed ronin, a former samurai with no master and no clear purpose, drags out an existence on the margins of this new life: he works as a guard in the pleasure quarter, as if hiding behind indifference the weariness of a man who has seen everything he believed in collapse. But one day Sonya falls into his hands: a young elf girl, bold, frightened, and far too important to those hunting the power hidden close to her.
