Promare: Galo-hen

Promare: Galo-hen is a short prequel to the 2019 film Promare by Studio Trigger and director Hiroyuki Imaishi. It is set just one day before the events of the movie and centers on Galo Thymos, the film's hot-blooded hero.

In the world of Promare, a phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion created the Burnish, people able to wield flames, and fires caused by Burnish have become a constant threat. In the city of Promepolis, Galo serves with Burning Rescue, the firefighting team that rushes in whenever the flames break out.

The short offers a glimpse of Galo's everyday life and his work with Burning Rescue on the eve of the story told in the film, showing the passion and boundless energy that define his character. It was produced alongside a companion short focusing on Lio, and together they give fans a bit of extra context and time with the characters, in the same bold, colorful style as the film.
