Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight

Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight is the second of two compilation films based on the 2017 television series, covering episodes 9 to 13.

Riko and her robot companion Reg continue their descent into the Abyss, an enormous, unexplored chasm full of strange creatures and ancient relics. On the third layer, Riko experiences the Curse of the Abyss for the first time. When they reach the fourth layer, Riko's arm is injured by a deadly Orbed Piercer, and Reg desperately tries to save her.

They are rescued by Nanachi, a mysterious being who treats Riko's poisoned arm. In return, Nanachi asks Reg to kill Mitty, Nanachi's immortal companion. After this heartbreaking request, Nanachi joins Riko and Reg on their quest to reach the bottom of the Abyss.

The film preserves the series' contrast between a charming art style and a dark, often brutal story of discovery, loss and courage.
