Liar Game

Nao Kanzaki receives a package containing 100 million yen and a notice that she has been entered into the Liar Game. The rules are simple enough to destroy her. She must protect her money and take her opponent’s money within a set time, while lies and tricks are allowed. Nao trusts her former teacher and loses everything almost at once. The debt would ruin her, so she turns to Shinichi Akiyama, a recently released swindler with a background in psychology. Akiyama reads the setup, exposes the teacher’s trap, and helps Nao win back control. Nao refuses to leave her opponent buried in debt, so she uses the prize to save him. That choice pulls her and Akiyama deeper into the tournament instead of setting them free.

Each round changes the shape of the contest. Minority votes, smuggling games, pandemic style negotiations, and team battles force players to decide whether trust is a weakness or a weapon. Akiyama builds plans by predicting fear, greed, and timing. Nao keeps trying to rescue players who betray her, and that stubborn honesty slowly becomes a strategy that other contestants cannot measure. Rivals such as Yokoya use money, intimidation, and control of information to dominate groups before the game even begins. The tournament office stays hidden behind handlers and legal threats, pushing losers toward debt while pretending the rules are neutral. As Nao and Akiyama advance, their aim shifts from surviving one round to breaking the structure itself. They exploit loopholes, return winnings, expose rigged incentives, and turn opponents against the organization that profits from despair. The real battle is not only to win money, but to prove that a game built on lies can collapse when enough players choose not to abandon each other.
