A Silent Voice

Shoya Ishida spends his elementary school days tormenting Shoko Nishimiya, a new classmate who is deaf and trying to fit in. When the bullying finally gets exposed, the blame collapses onto Shoya and the social punishment he helped create turns back on him. Years later he is isolated, weighed down by what he did, and he tracks Shoko down with one clear goal: return what he took from her and try to say what he never could back then. Reconnecting does not erase the damage, it forces both of them to face old wounds, angry classmates, and the quiet ways guilt and loneliness keep following them.
