Erased

Satoru Fujinuma works deliveries and drafts manga. He experiences a Revival that sends him back a short time to prevent accidents. His mother notices a suspicious man near a child and is later murdered. Police suspect Satoru. In the panic Revival triggers and he returns to his childhood. The date matches the months before kidnappings and murders in his town. He decides to save Kayo Hinazuki from abuse and from the abductor. He befriends her, builds alibis with classmates, and asks adults for help. A first attempt fails and Kayo disappears from school. He tries again and hides her with help from his mother and a friend’s family until child services act. In the present before the long jump his coworker Airi shelters him and survives an arson attack set by the culprit. Signs point to teacher Gaku Yashiro. Yashiro lures Satoru into a car and pushes it into a river. Satoru survives and spends years in a coma. As an adult he exposes Yashiro on a hospital roof while police wait nearby. Friends move forward and Kayo builds a new life.
