Iron Wok Jan!

Jan Akiyama arrives at Gobanchou, a prestigious Chinese restaurant in Tokyo, and immediately insults its celebrated fried rice. Rather than leave quietly, the sixteen-year-old storms into the kitchen and cooks a better version himself. His skill is no accident: Jan is the grandson of Kaiichiro Akiyama, once known as a master of Chinese cuisine and the great rival of Gobanchou's owner. Jan begins working at the restaurant, but his philosophy puts him at odds with its heir, Kiriko. She believes food should come from the heart; Jan believes cooking is a competition and victory matters above everything else. Armed with formidable technique, ruthless confidence, and a willingness to use ingredients no sensible chef would touch, he enters culinary contests as if they were battlefields, determined to crush every opponent and prove that his way of cooking stands above the rest.
