Youjo Shenki: Episode 0

Youjo Shenki: Episode 0 is a short bonus episode belonging to the mini anime spin-off of Saga of Tanya the Evil, known in Japan as Youjo Senki. It is a light extra rather than part of the main story.

The franchise is built around Tanya Degurechaff, a ruthless, purely rational salaryman who, after clashing with a being he calls Being X, is reborn as a little girl in a world resembling early twentieth-century Europe at war. There, Tanya becomes a fearsome aerial mage officer in the Empire's army, determined to climb the ranks and secure a safe life while openly defying the god who put her there.

The mini anime takes these characters and their world in a lighter direction, with a short format and comedic tone that contrasts with the grim war story of the TV series and film. Episode 0 serves as an introduction to this side project and is best enjoyed by viewers who already know Tanya and her subordinates.
