Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks

A dark timeline is engulfed in chaos, death and devastation. After Son Goku dies of a rare heart disease, a true nightmare descends upon the Earth. Androids 17 and 18 embark on a series of mass killings. They hunt down the heroes one after another, destroying the planet's defenders without mercy. Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Krillin, Vegeta: none of them survived. All that remains are ruined cities, handfuls of survivors and constant fear. In this world lives a grown-up Gohan, the last true fighter. He hides from the androids, rescues survivors and searches for allies. He is aided by young Trunks, the son of Vegeta and Bulma.

Gohan decides to pass on to the boy his knowledge, his fighting techniques and his legacy. They train in abandoned buildings with minimal resources. The youngster endures pain, exhaustion, inner torment and doubt. Gohan teaches him how to conquer fear, develop patience and keep his will strong. They go out on reconnaissance, observing the movements of the killing machines. Every step could be their last, for the enemies are relentless. The boy often makes mistakes, lets his mentor down and loses faith. Yet Gohan's perseverance helps him stay motivated and not give up. Another sortie leads to a clash with the androids. In the fierce battle, Gohan is gravely wounded. He leads Trunks away, hides his pain and prepares for the next fight.
