Gurren Lagann

Simon lives in an underground village and drills tunnels with a small core drill. A crash opens the ceiling and a girl named Yoko drops in while a giant gunman attacks. Simon awakens a tiny robot called Lagann and reaches the surface with Kamina. They form Team Dai Gurren, seize enemy gunmen, and fight Beastmen who serve Lordgenome. Raids on moving fortresses reveal a world ruled by fear and numbers. Kamina dies after leading a charge that breaks the enemy line, and the team keeps his flag. They find a girl named Nia in a container. She is Lordgenome’s daughter and joins their march. The team defeats the four generals and storms the capital. Simon destroys Lordgenome and humans return to open skies. Years later a thriving city crosses a population mark. The Anti Spiral race responds and Nia becomes their messenger. Simon is jailed, then freed by friends as weapons fall from orbit and the seas rise. The team flies into space with Arc Gurren, then fuses machines into Chouginga and later Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. They reach the Anti Spiral realm and win a final fight to free all spiral life. Nia fades after a quiet wedding. Simon hands the drill to the next child and walks on.
