Dagashi Kashi 2

Dagashi Kashi 2 is the second season of the comedy based on Kotoyama's manga, once again set at Shikada Dagashi, a small countryside shop selling dagashi, the cheap traditional Japanese sweets and snacks loved by generations of children. Kokonotsu Shikada still dreams of becoming a manga artist, while his father You keeps pushing him to inherit the family store instead.

The eccentric candy fanatic Hotaru Shidare, heiress to a major confectionery company, remains a part of Kokonotsu's life, as do his childhood friends, the café-running siblings Saya and Tou Endou. This season also introduces Hajime Owari, a young woman down on her luck who ends up working part-time at the Shikada shop and becomes a new regular face in the cast.

Each story revolves around a different snack, toy or piece of retro candy-store culture, explaining its history and quirks through the characters' lively and often absurd misadventures. With shorter episodes than the first season, the series keeps its laid-back slice-of-life charm, small-town atmosphere and gentle romantic comedy.
