Un-Go

In a dystopian near-future Tokyo still recovering from a long war, detective Shinjuurou Yuuki solves mysteries throughout the city. Because his solutions are routinely overshadowed by the official versions announced by the celebrated detective Rinroku Kaishou, some people know him as the "Defeated Detective".

Shinjuurou is aided by his odd associate Inga, a mysterious being who can change between the form of a young boy and that of an alluring woman, and who has the power to force a person to answer a single question truthfully. Thanks to his insight and ingenuity, Shinjuurou cracks case after case, especially homicides, and many culprits are caught. However, his partner seems to have other, more sinister intentions for the people they catch, and the truth about the assistant's identity and motives remains shrouded in secrecy.

Loosely inspired by the detective fiction of Ango Sakaguchi, Un-Go blends mystery, political intrigue and the supernatural.
