Un-Go: Chapter of Inga

Un-Go: Chapter of Inga is a prequel film to the mystery anime Un-Go, telling the story of how the detective Shinjuurou Yuuki first met the mysterious being called Inga.

It all begins with a seemingly unremarkable job. Shinjuurou, a skilled and brilliant detective, takes on a new and somewhat suspicious assignment. Looking into the details, he discovers that several people have been killed in a building where a religious sect usually gathered to hold its ceremonies. At first glance the case does not seem particularly interesting, except for one thing: the detective is personally acquainted with the founder of the cult involved, so the investigation only raises more and more questions.

It is during this case that he encounters Inga, and Shinjuurou feels that the meeting is anything but a coincidence. In the course of the investigation, Inga ends up saving the detective's life. Feeling indebted to his savior, Shinjuurou offers this dangerous being a deal: Inga will stop staining its hands with blood by taking lives indiscriminately, and in return Shinjuurou will lead it to the souls it hungers for. Where will this pact take him, and was he right to make it? The film reveals the origins of the strange partnership at the heart of the series.
