Strawberry Marshmallow

Strawberry Marshmallow follows a group of girls who go to the same school and whose lives are full of fun and small adventures, each of them with her own distinctive personality. Chika Itou has just moved up to the sixth grade and is always serious and conscientious. Miu Matsuoka, her classmate and next-door neighbor, has a habit of dropping in on her friend through the window and loves coming up with silly and naughty pranks. Matsuri Sakuragi is a year younger than the others and so naive that she often ends up as the victim of Miu's mischief.

Ana Coppola is an English girl who came to Japan with her parents as a small child and has lived there so long that she can no longer remember how to speak English, though she does her best to hide it. Watching over them all is Chika's older sister, Nobue, a chain-smoking, perpetually broke high schooler. Every day the girls go to school, try to earn some money, celebrate holidays and simply hang out together, and the girls manage to make everything around them seem adorable. A gentle touch of absurdity runs through it all, so it is no surprise that they keep getting into one funny situation after another, and whenever it matters, they always stand up for one another.
