Gintama Movie 3: Yoshiwara Daienjou

A petty theft drops Gintoki into a kid’s desperate plan. Seita has been stealing to buy a chance to see his mother Hinowa, a legendary courtesan trapped in the underground pleasure district Yoshiwara. Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura follow him down and learn that Yoshiwara is locked away from sunlight and ruled by the «Night King» Housen, who keeps Hinowa as a prisoner and crushes anyone who resists. Inside the district they run into Tsukuyo and the Hyakka, women trained to survive the same darkness, and the rescue turns into open war in the streets. Seita’s wish forces everyone to pick a side, and Gintoki clashes with Housen while the district burns around them, with bigger forces watching from the shadows and the cost of freedom landing on people who have been caged for years.
