JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood

This 2007 animated film adapts Phantom Blood, the original arc of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The life of Jonathan Joestar, a young aristocrat, seemed peaceful and orderly, with room only for familiar concerns: studies, training and the duties of a gentleman. But everything changes with the arrival of Dio Brando, a mysterious newcomer who suddenly appears in the Joestar household. Dio is a boy with a dark past closely tied to Jonathan's father and, as it turns out, to Jonathan's own destiny. Hostility arises between them from their very first meeting, and things only get worse as Dio begins using his talents to manipulate those around him. The real turning point comes when it becomes clear that Dio is obsessed with the mysterious, ancient stone mask kept in the Joestar mansion.

This mask, an ancient relic, hides incredible powers capable of transforming people and changing their very nature. Jonathan soon discovers that Dio is not merely after strength or a place in high society – he seeks immortality. Day by day Jonathan is drawn deeper into the fight against this evil, and their rivalry becomes a battle not just for power but for the soul of each of them, one in which the victory of either may bring tragedy to others.
