The Ramparts of Ice Season 2

Koyuki Hikawa is used to keeping people at arm's length. After a painful experience in middle school, she built an invisible barrier around herself that keeps others from getting emotionally close. At her new school she prefers solitude and rarely shows her true feelings; the only person she truly trusts is her childhood friend Miki Azumi. Her routine changes after she meets Minato Amamiya, a sociable, energetic boy who refuses to treat her coldness as a reason to back off. He keeps talking to her and little by little closes the distance she has kept for years. Yota Hino, a good-natured basketball player, joins their circle, and the four grow ever closer.

In the second season, the friends face the consequences of their own feelings. Koyuki and Minato have grown so close that calling it mere friendship no longer works. Both sense something more, yet neither dares to take the decisive step, and the fear of ruining what they have makes them hide their doubts and watch each other's reactions. Minato, so used to getting along with everyone, suddenly feels unsure exactly where an answer matters most to him, while Koyuki must fight her habit of retreating rather than admit that someone else's opinion has become truly important to her.
