Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation

Alongside the human world exists a world of spirits and ghosts. Sometimes these realms overlap, and not every spirit is benign. For his outstanding achievements, the powerful magician Toru Muhyo was granted the rank of Executor, a specialist in carrying out sentences against evil spirits. Together with his somewhat naive assistant Jiro Kusano, better known as Roji, he runs a paranormal bureau. People who have been attacked by ghosts or demons, or who have become possessed, come to them for help. Muhyo determines the guilt of the vengeful spirit and reads out an article from the book of magic law, then sends it to hell or chooses another punishment.

Though Muhyo wields enormous magical power, he cannot simply harm a ghost as he pleases. He must abide by the law, or he himself will be punished under the rules of the magical world. In every investigation the two try to help their clients, and Muhyo assists even those who refused to believe in the supernatural and turned down help, only to land in trouble. Roji cannot boast of strong abilities, but he faithfully carries out every order. Before long, new allies join them. But on one mission Muhyo encounters an old enemy who has no intention of making peace.
