At The Mercy of The Sky

Saku Ooyagi's family moves often, and he starts high school in a small town where he lived seven years ago. In that time Saku has grown into a tall, solid young man, but inside he is still the same bookworm and homebody. He recalls with horror Mihoshi Akeno, his childhood friend, who was a year older and mercilessly dragged him out of the house – into the woods, the fields and the mountains, as far as possible from his beloved books. Their games ended when Mihoshi fell from a tree, and Saku would rather forget what happened next – the last memory they share is of her falling and him saving her.

But fate has other plans: on the first day of the new school year, Saku runs into Mihoshi, who is announcing from the school roof that she is recruiting members for the astronomy club she founded. Mihoshi is determined to improve their relationship, and Saku's attempts to avoid his senpai fail one after another. He quickly gives in and joins the club, and so begins a gentle story of stargazing, friendship and the small dramas of school life under the night sky.
