Fullmetal Alchemist: Reflections

Fullmetal Alchemist: Reflections is a special that looks back on what happened during the original Fullmetal Alchemist TV series, the 2003 anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's manga. Rather than telling a new story, it revisits the major events of the show as a retrospective.

The series follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who broke alchemy's greatest taboo by attempting human transmutation to bring their mother back to life. The failed ritual cost Edward his arm and leg and Alphonse his entire body, leaving his soul bound to a suit of armor. Edward, now a State Alchemist known as the Fullmetal Alchemist, sets out with his brother to find the Philosopher's Stone in hopes of restoring what they lost, only to uncover dark secrets surrounding the military, the homunculi and the stone itself.

Reflections gathers the key moments of that journey, offering a way to recall the brothers' story and the emotional weight of its events, and serves as a companion to the 2003 series and its continuation in the film Conqueror of Shamballa.
