Wakakozake

A journey into the wonderful world of Japanese food, with all kinds of dishes and fine drinks. The heroine, Wakako Murasaki, is twenty-six years old and a vivid example of how solitude can hold a special charm of its own. She prefers a quiet, independent life and avoids get-togethers with friends and colleagues, choosing moments alone instead. Every day ends in a small celebration that arrives after a tiring day at the office, and instead of socializing and entertainment, she finds comfort in a variety of dishes and drinks.

On days when Wakako is not in the best of moods, she treats herself to richer drinks and more refined food. For her this becomes a kind of therapy, a way to retreat into her own world and escape everyday worries. Exploring new flavors and perfect pairings, she finds indescribable pleasure, and these little rituals immerse her in a world full of taste sensations. After such delicious experiments comes a blissful sleep, and then a new working day begins, much like the previous one, yet each time made special by new drinks and wonderful food.
