Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online - Refrain

Refrain is a special episode of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, the spin-off set in the VRMMO shooter Gun Gale Online. It takes place after the first Squad Jam, the team battle royale in which the small, pink-clad player LLENN and her towering partner M fought their way through the competition.

Pitohui, M's associate in the real world and a formidable player in her own right, was unable to take part in the tournament and is dying to know exactly how everything went down. To satisfy her curiosity, M sits down with her to review the footage of the competition, commentating on the trials that he and LLENN faced together.

The episode looks back over the events of the first Squad Jam from a new perspective, revisiting the battles and tactics of the tournament and the growing trust between LLENN and M, while offering a glimpse of the dynamic between M and the unpredictable Pitohui.
