The Shiunji Family Children

Arata Shiunji grows up in a large household with five sisters and a younger brother in an upscale Tokyo neighborhood. Life shifts when their father gathers everyone and states that most of them are not related by blood. The announcement cracks routines and invites feelings that the siblings had kept buried. Arata tries to keep boundaries and the family tone while classmates and neighbors react to gossip. At home the sisters test what the new truth means through small gestures, awkward meals, shared chores, and trips that were planned long before the reveal. Confessions and refusals follow, and each one forces Arata to decide whether he protects the role that kept the group stable or accepts a future that changes it. Adults around them attempt guidance and damage control. The school year and a family outing create openings for fixes and for mistakes. By the end the house is still full and the siblings remain under one roof, but every bond has been named and none of them can return to the way things were.
