Tasuketsu: Fate of the Majority

Saneatsu Narita wakes into a city where ordinary life has been erased overnight. Most people are dead, and the survivors receive messages from a figure calling himself the Emperor. The rule is simple and cruel. Each night a question is asked, and the answer chosen by the majority decides who dies. Saneatsu joins other students who survived the first selection, including Saaya Fujishiro and Ryuuta Ichinose, and the group tries to understand whether the game can be resisted instead of only endured. Panic, suspicion, and self preservation break people faster than the Emperor’s announcements do. Every vote forces the survivors to guess how others will answer, whether cooperation is real, and how much truth they can share without giving someone else power over them.

The game changes as Privileges and Rights appear, giving certain players abilities that can protect, deceive, kill, or shift the rules around them. Saneatsu survives by reading motives and timing, while others choose violence, betrayal, or sacrifice when the questions leave no safe answer. The search for the Emperor leads through abandoned streets, hidden broadcasts, rival survivor groups, and records that suggest the massacre is tied to experiments rather than random cruelty. As the number of players falls, the survivors learn that winning by majority can still mean losing the part of themselves that made survival worth having. Saneatsu’s fight becomes less about outguessing one vote and more about breaking the system that turns fear into arithmetic. To reach the Emperor, he has to keep allies together long enough for trust to matter in a game designed to make trust fatal.
