Onmyoji

In the prosperous capital of Heian-kyo, court musician Minamoto Hiromasa is drawn into a problem that the usual authority cannot explain. A demon is terrorizing the city, rumors spread faster than proof, and fear starts reshaping daily life inside the imperial court. Looking for answers, Hiromasa goes to the Bureau of Onmyo and meets Abe no Seimei, an exceptional onmyoji whose calm, distant manner makes him hard to read. Hiromasa expects a straightforward exorcism. Instead, he becomes Seimei’s steady counterweight as the two begin working through a string of incidents where human desire and the demonic realm overlap. Some cases look like simple hauntings, others feel like carefully staged tests, and each solution reveals another layer of how fragile the court’s order really is. Hiromasa wants clarity and justice, while Seimei approaches the same danger like a puzzle with rules only he can see. Their partnership grows out of necessity and turns into trust, even as enemies and hidden motives surface around them. What starts as a single mystery becomes a pattern of supernatural cases that keep tightening around the city, forcing both men to confront what is being summoned, why it is happening now, and what it will cost to stop it without letting the court tear itself apart first.
