In real life, the Arima household is a broken system held together by silence, resentment, and people who live next to each other without really meeting. Inside the VR game Planet, the same four people unknowingly form a team that feels like the family they never managed to be. They call themselves the Akabane Family and set one clear rule: do not ask about each other’s offline identity. That rule keeps the illusion safe, and it also keeps them trapped, because the comfort they find in the game is built on a lie they are actively maintaining. As the game becomes more intense, their roles inside Planet start to matter more than they should. Fights, guild conflicts, and the shared goal of defeating a final boss pull them together, while the distance between their real selves keeps growing. The story turns darker when the border between the virtual world and reality begins to blur. What started as escapism becomes a threat, and secrets that seemed harmless become weapons. When the family finally starts to understand who they have been relying on inside Planet, it forces them to face what they have been avoiding offline: guilt, loneliness, and the damage they did to each other. The tension is not only about survival. It is about whether a family can be rebuilt after it has already been replaced by a digital version that felt easier to live in.
