The Corpse God’s magic behaves differently in this world, which forces him to improvise, learn, and sometimes make deals with people he does not trust. Meanwhile, the underworld around Shinjuku grows more complicated, with shifting loyalties, hidden identities, and violence that is not always supernatural but is still brutal. The tension comes from the Corpse God’s contradiction. He is capable of horror, yet he genuinely wants peace. Part 2 keeps pressing that desire against a city that rewards manipulation, and it asks whether someone built for death can choose a life that is not defined by it.
