Blades of the Guardians

The protagonist wanders the desolate lands of the western regions, fleeing violence unleashed by the government. His mission is to reach the capital, Chang'an, but the task turns out to be far from simple. The journey becomes a perilous road full of crises. The hero, called Dao Ma, is assigned to keep track of events but soon runs into crises and threats. In his company are the Escorts, warriors who are rewarded for eliminating targets designated by the government.

Dao Ma also carries a debt to Mo, who took care of him and his child. But on their return to the city, they are confronted with horrors caused by man-eating demons known as rakshasas. The rising number of victims, bloody clashes and merciless warriors put the hero in a position where he is forced to step into the terror that has engulfed the country under the rule of the Sui dynasty. This journey promises to change the course of events and the fate of the entire world.
